Washington, D.C. | adc.org | November 13, 2023 — The American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) invites community members to join tonight’s impactful webinar, Experts on Mental Health: Taking Care of our Community’s Mental Health with Dr. Lara Sheehi at 7:30 PM EST.
Dr. Lara Sheehi will discuss community-specific mental health concerns, particularly in response to ongoing issues such as genocide, targeted violence across Palestine, and political repression in the United States.
This webinar is designed to be accessible to a wide audience, providing valuable information on current mental health challenges affecting our community. She will also address pre-submitted questions from community members.
About Dr. Lara Sheehi
Dr. Lara Sheehi is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology and the founding faculty director of the Psychoanalysis and the Arab World Lab. She is co-author with Stephen Sheehi of Psychoanalysis Under Occupation: Practicing Resistance in Palestine (Routledge, 2022) which won the Middle East Monitor’s 2022 Palestine Book Award for Best Academic Book. Lara is on the advisory board for the USA-Palestine Mental Health Network.
