Washington, D.C. | May 5, 2023 – The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) has partnered with AMP, CAIR, JVP, USCPR, VCHR and supporters from across the Palestine movement in their upcoming rally in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, May 14th at 1 PM at the Washington Monument to commemorate 75 years of the Nakba.
The Nakba, or “catastrophe” in Arabic, refers to the forced displacement between 750,000 to a million Palestinians from their homes during the creation of the state of Israel in 1948. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Nakba, a tragic event that continues to impact the lives of millions of Palestinians to this day.
In 1948, the Zionist project forced the removal and displacement of thousands of Palestinians that continues to this day. This rally aims to draw attention to the ongoing human rights violations being committed against the Palestinian people, including the continued occupation of the West Bank, the siege of Gaza, and the ongoing expansion of illegal Israeli settlements.
The ADC stands in solidarity with its partners and supporters in commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Nakba and calling for justice and an end to the ongoing human rights violations committed against the Palestinian people.
Join us at the rally on May 14th to demand an end to the occupation, the siege of Gaza, and the right of return for Palestinian refugees.
