Washington, DC | www.adc.org | August 29th, 2017 | On Saturday, September 23rd, ADC will be holding its Annual Civil Rights Luncheon. This event has traditionally served as the primary forum where convention attendees learn about the issues affecting their rights and the steps their government, and civil rights organizations, are taking to address civil rights and liberties, and immigrants’ rights in an informative and effective approach. ADC welcomes its members and friends to join us at 12:30pm on Saturday, in the Thurgood Marshall Ballroom of the Wardman Marriott. Our Keynote Speaker will be Vincent Warren from the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR).
At the luncheon, we will present awards to individuals who have dedicated themselves to protecting the civil rights and liberties of all Americans. Awards presented will be:
? Advocate of the Year – Professor Khaled A. Beydoun, Associate Professor of Law at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law
? Ralph Johns Award – Mr. Jamil Dakwar, Director of the American Civil Liberties Union’s Human Rights Program (HRP)
? Excellence in Advocacy Award – Professor Shoba Sivaprasad Wadhia, Center for Immigrants’ Rights Clinic at Penn State Law Schoo
