Ms. Reem Edan to Emcee Alex Odeh Memorial Gala

Reem is an award-winning writer and stand-up comedian who will bring her unique brand of humor to the stage, helping to ensure that the Gala is a success! About Reem:

Reem Edan is an Iraqi-American stand-up comedian, award-winning writer and content creator known for her unique brand of Muslim-ennial humor. After working in marketing at studios including Paramount and Disney, Reem took the full-time creative leap and has since performed at venues and universities across the US, Europe, Japan and Middle East. She’s opened for comics including Hannah Berner and Arsenio Hall, and has acted in several viral content pieces including alongside Elizabeth Banks to promote “Pitch Perfect 3,”  with influencer Markian B. for “What It’s Like To Have An Arab Girlfriend,” and with brands like Betches, CANN, and Headspace.

Since completing NBC’s Late Night Writing Workshop and MGM’s Writing Program, Reem has worked for Netflix as a synopsis writer, co-won the 2019 Filmmatic Comedy Screenplay Awards, and currently pens the memes and jokes for the official social media pages of: “Tom & Jerry,” “Scooby Doo,” and “Looney Tunes.” Her most recent TV credits include performing (in Arabic) on ShahidVIP’s “Stand Up Sketch Show,” and being featured on Showtime’s “Desus & Mero.” Reem is a scholarship recipient at the Groundlings, was invited to a program at MIT for influencers using their platforms for change, and was named one of Bustle’s “5 Muslim Women Comedians to Get You Through Social Distancing.”
