Huckabee’s Extremism Leads to Lynchings; Demand Justice for Nasrallah Abu Siyam, End to Israeli Impunity

WASHINGTON, D.C. | The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) is calling for an immediate investigation into the lynching murder of Nasrallah Abu Siyam, a 19-year-old American citizen. Abu Siyam was killed during an attack by Israeli Settlers on the village of Mukhmas in the Occupied West Bank. This lynching was carried out under the protection and cover of Israeli forces. This is another example of an occupying power enabling and empowering violent actors, while ensuring there is no accountability for their actions. 

Shortly after the lynching murder of an American citizen, footage aired of the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, justifying the very structure of occupation, and rhetoric of ethnic cleansing, that led to the murder and continuing attacks on the Occupied West Bank. His comment, “it would be fine if [Israel] took it all,” signals permission and the green light for Israeli forces to use violence and empower settlers for further annexation and dispossession. 

The United States continues to fund, shield, and excuse Israeli violence, forced displacement, and mass atrocity across Palestine. Now the U.S. Ambassador to Israel is engaging in empowering and allowing for actions that lead to the targeted lynching and killing of U.S. Citizens. At the same time, Congress continues to put Israel First by sending American taxpayer dollars to Israel.

Israeli settlers and soldiers have killed at least a dozen Americans since 2022. Time and again, our government refuses to defend the rights, dignity, and safety of its own citizens simply to appease the demands of a foreign government and give impunity to Israel. 

The impunity cannot continue. ADC is calling on the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Department of the Treasury to take immediate and necessary action against those that are responsible for the murder of an American citizen. Many of the settlers attacking the Occupied West Bank are U.S. Citizens, with significant ties to our country. The U.S. government must hold those responsible for this murder accountable. This investigation must be handled in a manner that clearly shows loyalty to America and its citizens, not to a foreign nation and its agenda.

There must be a transparent U.S. investigation and public reporting of its findings. Americans across the country are demanding that our government stop providing diplomatic, political, and financial cover that allows for Israel’s continued annexation, dispossession, and murder of the Palestinian people. Anything less than this signals that this government has no issue with the lynching and killing of its own citizens by a foreign nation.”
