Washington, D.C. | www.adc.org | September 8, 2022 – The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) is excited to announce that George and Karen Longstreth will receive the Rachel Corrie Memorial Award at this year’s Alex Odeh Memorial Gala! This award is presented annually to an activist or an organization who has shown outstanding commitment to challenging all forms of human rights violations and advocating for freedom and justice in Palestine. The Gala will be held on Saturday, October 8.

Karen (retired registered nurse) and George (retired physician) became committed to justice in Palestine after attending their first San Diego ADC meeting about 20 years ago on the invitation of a young Palestinian friend. They have since been active in the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF). Karen has been a Board Member for 15 years and served 4 years as President. They have visited Palestine 5 times since 2007 as medical volunteers and observers of PCRF activities. Their last trip included Gaza in 2017. They have also been long-term supporters of the new San Diego House of Palestine in Balboa Park. They believe this 20- year journey has enormously enriched their lives and they plan to continue these activities.
