The Honorable Patrick J. Duggan was appointed to the United States District Court in October 1986 and assumed judicial service in January 1987.  Prior to this appointment, Judge Duggan had served as Judge for the Wayne County Circuit Court since 1977.  Previous to his appointment to state circuit court, Judge Duggan was senior partner of a private law firm in Livonia, Michigan. ADC-Michigan Director Attorney Fatina Abdrabboh said, “We are honored to include a person like Judge Duggan who has been tireless in encouraging, mentoring, and cultivating the new generation of leaders in the legal world. Through his principled stances over the years he is someone who has certainly shown that being a good person and a good lawyer can be one and the same.”

Judges Night, an annual event hosted by the ADC Michigan, was established in an effort to recognize judges who exhibit distinguished leadership and those committed to justice and strive to uphold the letters of the Constitution. This Year, City of Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan will deliver the Keynote Address. This is ADC’s 12th Annual Judges Night Reception. In recent years, ADC Michigan is proud to have honored several judges, including Judge Marilyn Kelly, Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice, and Judge Damon J. Keith of the U.S. Court of Appeals.
