Washington, DC | www.adc.org | August 23, 2022 – The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) is excited to announce that Rula Jebreal will be delivering the keynote address at this year’s Alex Odeh Memorial Gala. Rula is an internationally recognized leader, a best selling author, and her keynote address will cap a full day of panel discussions and community building (you can register for it all HERE). The Gala is held annually in honor of Alex Odeh, a civil rights icon and ADC staff member killed in a terrorist bombing at ADC’s Santa Ana office.

About Rula:
Rula Jebreal is an award-winning journalist and foreign policy analyst, renowned for her groundbreaking work in Europe, the US, and across the Middle East. An international bestselling author, whose works have been translated into more than 14 languages, she is currently a Visiting Professor at The University of Miami, where she teaches Communications. Rula served on the G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council, a body relaunched by French President Emmanuel Macron, as well as on the Advisory Board of The U.S./Middle East Project, and is fluent in Italian, English, Hebrew, and Arabic.
Before moving to the United States, Rula served as a Visiting Professor at the American University of Rome (AUR). While at AUR, she was instrumental in the creation of a scholarship program for Syrian refugees which currently provides tuition funding to Syrian students at AUR. In 2016. Rula was awarded an honorary Doctorate in Humanities from the American University of Rome, and in March of this year was awarded an honorary Doctorate in Political Science from the University of Messina in Sicily.
