Washington, D.C. | October 27, 2023 – ADC welcomes the quick and swift action by Re/Max, LLC to address anti-Arab and anti-Palestinian comments made by Mr. Mark Mullaney, a formerly Re/Max affiliated realtor. Late yesterday our office received complaints about vile and hateful anti-Arab and anti-Palestinian comments made by a Florida Realtor, Mr. Mark Mullaney. The violent and hate filled comments, made on Instagram, called Palestinian people trash and cancer, and cheered the death of Palestanians – screenshots are below.
In a conversation with Re/Max CEO, Mr. Nick Bailey, it was confirmed that Mark Mullaney is no longer affiliated with the Re/Max Gold brokerage or the Re/Max Brand.
Additionally, Mr. Bailey added, “RE/MAX is a global brand with a network of more than 140,000 agents and a presence in more than 110 countries and territories around the world representing numerous ethnicities, races, and religions. RE/MAX affiliates must share and honor a common commitment to professionalism. The goal is not simply to meet the minimum requirements of professionalism, but to aspire to levels of professionalism that exceed the rest of the industry.
ADC National Executive Director Abed Ayoub said, “We thank the leadership Re/Max and Re/Max Gold brokerage for taking swift and immediate action. It is important that companies and corporations stand up against hate, especially at a time when we are seeing a record rise in anti-Arab and anti-Palestanian hate and bigotry. The comments made by the realtor are I want to thank Mr. Bailey for his prompt response and attention to this issue.”
