The recent Center for Migration Studies publication “In Defense of the Alien” features an article by ADC Legal Advisor Carol Khawly, JD. Khawly’s article is entitled “Impact of September 11 on Traditional Openness to Immigrants and Non-Immigrants: An Arab-American Community Perspective,” discusses the experiences of the Arab American community post September 11. Her article also addresses various government policies which discriminate against and target individuals of Arab descent.
Founded in New York in 1964, CMS is one of the premier institutes for migration studies in the United States and is an NGO in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
