Congresswoman Kaptur Joins ADC Convention, Three Days Left to Register at Discounted Price

Washington DC | April 27, 2007 | www.adc.org | The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) is pleased to announce Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) will speak at ADC’s Annual National Convention during a luncheon celebrating the achievements of women. The luncheon will take place from 12:00-1:30pm on Sunday, June 10, at the Omni Shoreham Hotel.
Demonstrating international leadership through diplomatic contributions to the Middle East Peace process, Congresswoman Kaptur is responsible for directing the first surplus farm commodities in 1999 to support the peace process in the Middle East in Lebanon, Palestine, and Israel. Kaptur has also helped direct US foreign assistance to the war ravaged area of southern Lebanon, including such development projects as organic farming and community water treatment facilities. In February, Kaptur participated in a congressional delegation to Turkey, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, who represents Northern Ohio’s Ninth Congressional District, is currently serving her thirteenth term in the U.S. House of Representatives. She is one of only 90 women out of 535 members of the 110th Congress.
