Washington, D.C. | adc.org | October 9, 2023 — Given the recent events and emerging situations in the region, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) strongly advises all Arab Americans currently in Palestine or Lebanon to register with the U.S. Embassy or Consulate immediately through the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP).
The U.S. State Department has an obligation to ensure the safety and well-being of all US citizens in areas targeted by Israel. This must be fulfilled before anything else, and as Israeli violence increases becomes ever more important. By registering through STEP, travelers will make sure that the needs of Americans in Palestine and Lebanon are not ignored.
Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP): The STEP is a free service provided by the U.S. Department of State to allow U.S. citizens and nationals traveling and living abroad to enroll their trip with the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Registering through STEP ensures you receive timely updates, emergency services, and other vital information directly from the U.S. Embassy.
