ADC Live on Al-Jazeera to Discuss Release of Sami Al-Haj from Guantanamo

Washington, DC | May 5, 2008| www.adc.org | The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) will be represented live by Kareem Shora, National Executive Director, on the Al-Jazeera Arabic news satellite television network.
Shora will appear live on Al-Jazeera‘s primetime news program “Ma Warr‘a Al Khabar” (“Behind the Headlines”) from 2:30 to 3:00 pm EST (from 9:30 to 10:00 pm in most of the Middle East). He will be discussing the release of Al Jazeera journalist Sami Al-Haj from the Guantanamo Bay prison after over six-years of detention. This past Friday, Al-Haj landed in his native Sudan on board a US military plane (See: http://www.reuters.com/article/worldNews/idUSL0114411520080502 ). Shora will address the legal issues surrounding the Guantanamo detentions under both US and international law.
