Washington, D.C. | The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) denounces Israel’s latest tactic in Gaza, where a so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) has replaced the United Nations’ proven aid system with a scheme designed to dehumanize and forcibly displace Palestinians. By establishing only four distribution centers in the south, none in northern Gaza, Israeli officials and their private contractors are herding starving families away from their homes. This spectacle is not a sign of care; it is an obvious strategy to humiliate and crush the resolve of an entire people.
Israel blocked humanitarian aid for nearly three months, deliberately weaponizing food, medicine, and basic necessities. The GHF’s chaotic launch in Rafah laid bare this scheme: long distances, militarized checkpoints, and meager rations fueled desperate crowds, who faced warning shots and arrests instead of assistance. Meanwhile, Israel perpetuates an illusion of generosity by inflating its distribution numbers. In reality, the GHF has delivered a minuscule amount of food that leaves vast swaths of Gaza, especially the north, in dire hunger. Netanyahu and his war cabinet admit their ultimate aim: they want Gazans to abandon their homes under threat of starvation.
ADC rejects Israel’s plan to dismantle internationally recognized aid networks like the U.N., and replace them with militarized “buffer ghettos.” This system of “safe distribution centers” does not provide relief; it cements Israeli occupation tactics and chokes off any vestige of sovereignty the Palestinian people have over their land. Families seeking help now face direct interrogation, risk enforced disappearance, and endure punishing conditions—all for a small box of food that fails to meet their basic nutritional needs.
The ADC calls on President Trump to seize control of this crisis in Gaza and shut down any channel that enables Israel’s war of starvation. That begins with ending the flow of U.S. weapons to Israel, restoring robust U.N. operations, and demanding a complete halt to the forced displacement of Palestinians. American authority must serve the cause of human decency, not bankroll war crimes carried out under the guise of a flawed aid program. We insist on immediate action that feeds the hungry, protects the vulnerable, and honors the fundamental rights and dignity of the people of Palestine.
