ADC Announces ArabCon 2024: The National Arab American Convention
In Dearborn, MI September 12-15
The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) proudly announces ArabCon 2024, scheduled for September 12-15 in Dearborn, Michigan. This year’s convention focuses on the Arab-American vote amidst unprecedented attacks on the community and the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
As the country’s largest Arab American organization, ADC represents over one hundred thousand Americans of Arab heritage, making up roughly 10% of all registered Arab voters. With 1.2 million Arab Americans registered to vote, their influence is significant.
Last month, ADC released a poll of its membership, showing presumptive Democratic nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris, garnering 27.5% support among respondents – a notable increase from President Biden’s 7% in the May poll. However, Green Party candidate Dr. Jill Stein remains the favorite among ADC members, polling at 45.3% support. Notably, 1 in 4 respondents were either undecided or inclined to sit out the election.
“All roads to the White House pass through Michigan, and never has the Arab American vote been as important as it is today, particularly in key swing states. ArabCon will gather Arab Americans from across the nation to discuss the challenges we face in this increasingly hostile environment, particularly since the events of October 7th,” said Abed A. Ayoub, ADC National Executive Director.
“The genocide in Gaza will be at the epicenter of our convention. We’re inviting voices from all sectors and industries to join us so we can have the necessary conversations to chart a path forward toward a united, equal, and representative democracy for all.”
