ACTION ALERT: Tell Congress to Protect Our Right to Boycott, Support H.R.496

The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) calls on all members to reach out to their Congressional representatives and urge them to support H. Res. 496, that affirms the constitutional right to engage in a boycott. The Resolution was introduced on July 17, 2019 by Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and is co-sponsored by Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and civil rights leader Representation John Lewis (D-GA).

Contact your Representatives TODAY and urge them to sponsor H.R.496.

The right to boycott has been integral to America’s political culture and history. H.R.496 was introduced to oppose the various Anti-BDS bills that several representatives have introduced in Congress. Today, we need to remind our elected officials that passing anti-boycott legislation would be an egregious violation of our constitutionally-protected First Amendment rights. H.R.469 affirms that “all Americans have the right to participate in boycotts in pursuit of civil and human rights at home and abroad, as protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution.” Make sure your Representatives know that you want to preserve your Constitutional rights. Contact them today!
