Now Open: 2026 Dr. Jack G. Shaheen Mass Communications Scholarship

ADC is excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 Dr. Jack G. Shaheen Mass Communications Scholarship!
Established in 1997, this scholarship has supported more than 100 Arab American students pursuing careers in journalism, film, and media, challenging stereotypical narratives and uplifting their communities in these fields.
The scholarship honors Dr. Jack G. Shaheen, a pioneering author, lecturer, and media critic whose life’s work challenged racism and Orientalism in Hollywood and popular culture. Dr. Shaheen is best known for his groundbreaking book and documentary, Reel Bad Arabs: How Hollywood Vilifies a People, which exposed decades of harmful stereotyping and called for fair, accurate representation of Arabs and Muslims in the media.
