California State Coordinator (Anaheim)
The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) remains committed to protecting and advocating for the rights of the Arab American community. Now, more than ever, our work has never been more needed, as we confront the pressing challenges of rising hate and discrimination that demand a robust legal and policy response to protect the rights and dignity of the Arab American community in every state.
It is with urgency that we announce a crucial job opening within our organization – the position of California State Coordinator. This role is essential to our mission as we expand our presence and impact in key states across the country. This position will be based out of the ADC California office located in Anaheim, CA.
Duties would include:
- Track and analyze California legislation and public policy developments impacting the Arab American community
- Build and maintain relationships with state and local elected officials, agencies, and coalition partners
- Represent ADC in legislative meetings, public hearings, and community forums across California
- Coordinate and execute advocacy campaigns and community mobilization efforts throughout the state
- Organize town halls, public education forums, and policy briefings, particularly in Southern California
- Collaborate with ADC’s legal team to elevate civil rights complaints and trends in California
- Draft press releases, policy memos, and social media content to amplify state-level advocacy
- Serve as the public voice of ADC in California media and government engagement
- Support organizational fundraising and partnership development efforts within the state
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, or related field (J.D. preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in policy advocacy, community organizing, or government relations
- Experience working with Arab-American, immigrant, or other underrepresented communities
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Deep understanding of California political, legislative, and community landscapes
- Supportive and committed to ADC’s mission
- Ability to travel regularly across California
- Fluency in Arabic is a plus
