American Arab activist Mona Ismail passes away

Washington, DC — The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) is saddened by the passing of ADC member and activist Mona Ismail. Ismail passed away on Saturday afternoon at Fairfax Hospital after a long struggle with cancer. She is survived by a daughter and two sons.
Ismail was the Director of Events and Communication at the Interfaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington, DC, a prominent member of her community as well as an active member and a dear friend of ADC. She also served as a volunteer at Al-Hewar Center for several years.
Mona Ismail’s funeral was held on Sunday, December 18, at the ADAMS Center in Sterling. Her family will receive condolences on Monday, 19 and Tuesday 20, from 6:30 to 9:30 PM at:
