The Algerian Ballet will hold its first U.S. tour, starting with a performance in Washington, DC on March 5, 2004 at the GW Lisner Auditorium to be followed on March 7, 2004 by a performance at the Tribeca Performance Center in New York, then on March 9, 2004 in downtown Houston at the Zilkha Hall, Hobby Center, and on March 11 at the Scottish Rite Theater in San Francisco.All proceeds will benefit survivors of the Algerian earthquake on May 21, 2003.
The Algerian National Ballet has given more than 2,000 performances in more than 50 countries since its birth 34 years ago. Its program will feature traditional dances and reflect various aspects of life in different regions of Algeria.
