What are you doing for others? MLK Jr. Day

Washington, D.C. | www.adc.org | January 15, 2016 – ADC celebrates the opportunity to reflect on the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. and all engaged in the struggle for civil and human rights on Monday, January 18, 2016.

To celebrate King’s legacy, we encourage our community members to give back in observance of the holiday. Since 1996, MLK Jr. Day has also been a National Day of Service, with many organizations calling for volunteers and local groups implementing community service projects in their neighborhoods. In addition to volunteer opportunities, many cities hold annual events to discuss and learn about MLK Jr.’s life, the civil rights movement and the work that must continue to bring about justice for all.

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?”

-MLK Jr., 1957
