URGENT ACTION: Tell Congress to Stop Funding Genocide

Washington, DC | www.adc.org | April 19, 2024 – The US House of Representatives is getting ready to vote tomorrow on a bill that would give over $15 billion in additional military aid to the genocidal Israeli government. ADC is calling on all its members to email their Members of Congress and demand that the US Government refuse to fund the ongoing genocide.

It is unconscionable to send a massive amount of taxpayer dollars to support genocide and ethnic cleansing. The only outcome of this bill would be to further entrench US complicity in the ongoing genocide of Palestinians. Congress must loudly and forcefully reject any attempt to provide additional unrestricted military aid to Israel.

ADC National Executive Director Abed Ayoub said, “By plowing ahead with this bill, Congress has decided to double down on its complicity in genocide. The only restrictions that can be found in the text are focused on preventing any reasonable provision of aid to a population being annihilated. ADC vehemently opposes it and will fight any attempts to send US taxpayer dollars to support the annihilation of Palestinians.”

TAKE ACTION: Tell Congress Not to Fund Genocide

The legislation does not include the level of humanitarian assistance that is needed. The assistance mentioned in the bill is symbolic and will not make a meaningful dent in the massive, man-made humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza. The bill also prohibits funding the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, the best-placed humanitarian aid organization capable of distributing food and water throughout Gaza at the scale necessary to avert famine. More concerningly, assistance in the bill is not tied to use in Gaza and could be used anywhere around the world subject to the President’s discretion.

No reasonable reading of this legislation lends itself to the conclusion that it will do anything but encourage the genocide of Palestinians. All moral Americans must step up and demand their elected representatives oppose this funding bill.
