ADC was thrilled to see Arab Americans from around the country join us in Cerritos, California on October 11-12th for a weekend of celebration, learning, and civic engagement. In its second year, the Alex Odeh Conference provided an opportunity to network within and strengthen the Arab-American community. With panel topics spanning from immigration policy in the U.S. to electoral politics in the Israeli state, our conversations brought attention to struggles facing Arabs around the globe. The Alex Odeh Memorial Banquet ended a day of thoughtful discussion with an evening of powerful speeches.
The guest speakers – from a number of different backgrounds, professions, and political opinions – reiterated the path towards justice: Act up! Speak out! Write! Call! Organize!
Hundreds of people gathered Saturday night at the Alex Odeh Memorial Banquet for a celebration and commemoration of social justice leaders in our community. The night included great food, music, dance, and community building. With the generosity of the attendees and supporters, ADC raised funds for our new West Coast Regional Office!
