When was the last time you read the paper and thought, “Somebody should do something about this?!” Maybe it was after Arab-Americans had their Global Entry airport passes revoked by the Department of Homeland Security without any explanation. Or maybe it was after Trump’s nearly 60% cut in refugee admittance, which will close the door to desperate Syrians, Iraqis, Libyans, and Yemenis. Or perhaps it was after the Census Bureau removed the MENA (Middle East/North Africa) category from the 2018 End-to-End Census Test.
As a fellow Arab-American, I know many people in our community are deeply frustrated about what is happening to our country. As the President of ADC, I’m here to tell you that if you’re energized and ready to act for our community, ADC is your home! It’s time to join the nation’s largest civil rights, grassroots Arab-American organization to make a change.
“If we ever hope for Arabs and Arab-Americans to be treated fairly in the media, then support for ADC is vital. Every Arab-American who is proud of his heritage should be a member.”
– Casey Kasem, Radio Host “American Top 40”
We have always been a membership organization because only through an engaged membership can ADC effectively fight for your rights. When you join ADC, you’ll be joining a community of dedicated Arab-Americans working to make our voices heard. With the help of our members, ADC is taking DHS to court to end discrimination against Arabs, offering pro bono legal services to Arab refugees and immigrants, and working with Census officials to reinstate the MENA category in time for the 2020 Census. ADC membership gives every one of our members the tools and guidance to fight together as one community.
Will you join ADC and Arab-Americans in this great cause to defend our civil rights and honor our heritage? My answer has always been a resounding YES, and I know yours will be too! Now more than ever, Arab-Americans determined to do something about the injustices we witness need to stand together.
Beyond our essential legal and advocacy work, ADC membership will connect you to a nationwide network of Arab-American professionals and businesses and you’ll be enriched by our year-round cultural events and lectures.
More than anything, ADC depends on the support of our members and we are grateful for your commitment to our community. Only through membership is ADC capable of continuing our work to oppose bigotry and discrimination against Arab-Americans. I encourage you to apply for ADC membership today!
If you’ve been a member in the past, please renew your membership today. And if you have already renewed your membership, please consider making a donation!
Thank you for all that you do! We appreciate the support and participation of our members.
