Washington, DC, Jan. 28 — A landmark meeting of the 4 major Arab American and 5 largest Muslim American organizations laid the groundwork for a new era of collaboration among the groups.
The meeting, which was held on Jan. 23 in Washington DC, brought together the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), the Arab American Institute (AAI.), the National Association of Arab Americans (NAAA), the Association of Arab American University Graduates (AAUG), the American Muslim Alliance (AMA), the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), the American Muslim Council (AMC), the Muslim Pubic Affairs Council (MPAC), and the Coalition for Good Government (CFGG). ADC President Hala Maksoud said that “We hope that as a result of our coordinated work on these issues, the 8 million Arab and Muslim Americans will move towards a level of participation commensurate with our presence in this society.”
