Israel Expands War of Aggression by Bombing Lebanon; Biden/Harris Fail Again

Washington, DC | www.adc.org | September 23, 2024 – Regional and international peace and security is once again being sabotaged by the zionist regime of Israel’s indiscriminate bombing and killing terror campaign, which has now expanded to Lebanon. “De-escalation by escalation” is a nonsensical policy aimed at creating an atmosphere of fear and submission in the region by Israel, the United States, and its allies. Following its terrorist attacks on Lebanon’s communication systems last week, Israel has launched a full-scale aerial attack on Lebanese citizens and sovereign territory in South Lebanon. This serious escalation by Israel is intended to provoke a wider regional war. The ongoing terror campaign by Israel has killed hundreds in Lebanon as of this morning, with thousands more injured. Hospitals that were already overwhelmed are now pushed to the brink, and there is fear that further communications sabotage will seriously obstruct emergency response efforts.

Demand that Congress and the Biden-Harris Administration Take Immediate Action to Save Lives

ADC National Executive Director Abed Ayoub said, “Biden’s promise of ending ‘forever wars’ is futile, as our international peace and security has never been as fragile as now. The events in Lebanon are the latest failures of the Biden-Harris Administration. It is unfathomable that after nearly a year of ongoing genocide in Gaza, the U.S. has given the green light for Israel to continue its reign of terror in the region. Demanding a ceasefire and stopping the bombing is the minimum the U.S. can do now. Immediate action must be taken to bring an end to the killing and bombing and stop the sales and transfer of weapons to Israel. Failure to take immediate action will lead to the continuing slaughter of Arabs by Israel.”

Israeli terror is nothing new for the Lebanese people. It has long been a goal of Israel to re-occupy South Lebanon after their defeat and forced withdrawal of occupation forces from the country in May of 2000. Between 1978 and 1985, Israel invaded Lebanon twice killing tens of thousands. These attacks included the 1982 Sabra and Shatila massacre when Lebanese militia, operating under the direction of Israeli forces, massacred and wounded thousands of defenseless Palestinian men, women, and children in the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps. In 2006, Israel again invaded Lebanon and imposed a blockade, only to once again be forced to retreat out of Lebanon.

Israel’s terror campaign won’t serve to achieve any meaningful goals, it will only cause further death and destruction while destabilizing the region, and pulling the world into a wider, regional war.

Demand that Congress and Both Presidential Campaigns Take Immediate Action to Save Lives

Leaders in the United States, and across the world, must take immediate action. Calls for a ceasefire and an end to the killing, while required, are not enough. Israel’s brutal history in Lebanon, when compounded with how it has carried out its genocidal campaign in Gaza, presents a clear and present danger to Lebanese life and regional stability. At a minimum, the Biden-Harris Administration must impose an arms embargo on all weapons sales and transfers to Israel.
