Washington, D.C. | www.adc.org | March 8, 2016 – The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) is happy to celebrate the innumerable achievements and contributions of women in honor of International Women’s Day 2016.
International Women’s Day is a global day of celebration in honor of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. It has been celebrated in some form since the early 1900s and was adopted by the UN in the 1970s. It is both a time of celebration and an opportunity to reflect on the work that must be done today to ensure that we achieve gender equality and justice for all.
