Washington, D.C. | www.adc.org | April 1, 2023 – As we enter the month of April, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) is proud to celebrate Arab American Heritage Month. With President Biden’s historic official declaration of April as Arab American Heritage Month, we join the nation in honoring the diverse and vibrant Arab American community and recognizing the countless ways in which Arab Americans have contributed to the growth, success, and cultural fabric of the United States.
Arab American Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the achievements and contributions of Arab Americans across various fields, including the arts, sciences, politics, and business. We also take this opportunity to reflect on the resilience and determination that defines the Arab American experience. This month serves as a reminder of the importance of fostering understanding, respect, and unity among all communities in our great nation.
Throughout the month, ADC will be hosting a variety of programs celebrating Arab American culture and heritage. We invite you to join us in these enriching events that showcase the diverse talents and accomplishments of our community. More details on these programs can be found on our website.
Additionally, we encourage everyone to attend the ADC National Convention in June in Washington, DC. This annual gathering is an excellent opportunity for networking, learning, and celebrating the achievements of Arab Americans while engaging in discussions on pressing issues affecting our community.
Abed Ayoub, the National Executive Director of ADC, stated, “We are grateful for President Biden’s official recognition of Arab American Heritage Month, which sends a powerful message of unity and appreciation for the Arab American community. This month, we hope to elevate the voices of Arab Americans, sharing their stories and achievements, and ultimately fostering a greater understanding and appreciation for the community’s diverse contributions to our nation.”
The ADC remains committed to promoting the rights and well-being of Arab Americans and advocating for a more inclusive society. As we celebrate Arab American Heritage Month, we encourage everyone to learn about and engage with the rich culture, history, and accomplishments of Arab Americans. By doing so, we hope to strengthen the bonds of understanding and create a more equitable and diverse nation.
