Washington, D.C. | The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) denounces Israel’s unprecedented and criminal attack on Qatar’s sovereignty. Qatar stands as one of America’s most trusted and strategic allies in the Middle East and hosts Al Udeid Air Base—the largest U.S. military installation in the region and a cornerstone of American security operations. By striking in Doha as leaders negotiated new Gaza ceasefire terms, Israel recklessly endangered a vital partnership, jeopardized regional stability, and sabotaged efforts to bring peace.
Israel, the pariah state, once again trampled every measure of international law and proved that it abides by no laws or measure of sanity. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in his reckless pursuit to “redraw the map of the Middle East,” continues his descent into madness and is plunging the region into all-out war. Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, Iran—none of it was enough. Now Israel has attacked Qatar.
This attack came shortly after President Trump issued a “final warning” to Hamas leaders to accept his ceasefire proposal. These leaders were in Doha to discuss that very proposal when Israel unleashed its assault. Israel has made it clear: it does not want peace. It does not want stability. It thrives on endless conflict.
Israel’s criminal actions in Doha prove, once again, that it is the greatest threat to global security. Our government and the international community must restrain rash actions by the Israeli government and hold Israel accountable. Silence is complicity.
Together, we must choose justice over impunity.
