The DC Office of Motion Picture and TV and the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities are currently accepting original, unpublished manuscripts written by Washington, DC residents for the Fifth Annual Film DC Screenwriters Competition.
Eighty-five percent of the script‘s location must be authentic Washington, DC locations. Scripts will be evaluated on the basis of authenticity of locations, originality, structure, character development, dialogue, writing skill, commercial potential and the judge‘s impressions.
The competition is open to all Washington, DC residents 18 years of age or older who have not written or sold a script to a cable company, television network, or movie studio. All entries must be mailed and postmarked by November 14, 2005. The winner receives a trip to Los Angeles, California to visit the set of the West Wing television program.
