April 23, 2024 | adc.org | Washington, D.C. – The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) is actively seeking a forward-thinking Communications Coordinator to spearhead our communication efforts in the evolving landscape of 2024. As a vital member of our team based in Washington, D.C., you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our comprehensive communication strategy.

We’re looking for someone who not only understands civil rights issues but also possesses a keen insight into the latest trends and technologies driving the communications industry today. The ideal candidate will have the agility to adapt to new platforms and methodologies while maintaining a strong commitment to advancing ADC’s mission.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Writing and Content Creation: Demonstrate exceptional writing skills with a nuanced understanding of civil rights issues and political landscapes. Craft engaging content for various platforms, from traditional press releases to multimedia storytelling on emerging digital channels.
  • Utilization of Tools and Platforms: Leverage the latest technologies and software tools to enhance communication efforts.
  • Strategic Media Outreach: Drive day-to-day outreach efforts with press contacts, fostering relationships with reporters across national and local media outlets. Organize impactful news conferences and adeptly monitor media landscapes spanning print, electronic, and online platforms.
  • Innovative New Media Strategies: Develop and implement creative approaches to expand ADC’s visibility and engage key audiences. Embrace emerging platforms and trends in digital and social media, employing strategic insights to maximize reach and impact.
  • Multilingual Communication: While proficiency in English is essential, fluency in Arabic is preferred but not required.
  • Video Production and Editing: Experience in video production and editing is advantageous, enabling the creation of compelling visual narratives to complement our communication initiatives.
