Take Action: Senate to Vote on Blocking Weapons to Israel

Yesterday, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) announced his intention to immediately force votes to block offensive arms sales to Israel in response to the ongoing daily massacres of Palestinians and the manufactured famine in Gaza—both a result of Israeli government policy.
Today, the Senate is voting on the following resolutions:

  • S.J.Res.34 – To prohibit the U.S.-taxpayer-funded $675.7 million sale of 201 MK 83 1,000-pound bombs; 4,799 BLU-110A/B General Purpose 1,000-pound bombs; 1,500 Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) guidance kits for MK 83 bombs; 3,500 JDAM guidance kits for MK 84 bombs; and related logistics and technical support services.
  • S.J.Res.41 – To prohibit the sale of tens of thousands of fully automatic assault rifles.

Billions of taxpayer dollars have already been used to fund Israel’s genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. Today, thousands of Palestinians are enduring a man-made famine. The U.S.- and Israeli-backed aid contractor, Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), has been linked to the killing of over 1,000 Palestinians. War crimes are being committed at food distribution sites, and testimony from former Green Berets confirms the atrocities.

These arms sales are in clear violation of the Foreign Assistance Act and the Arms Export Control ActWhy is the United States continuing to arm a government whose war crimes have been visible to the world for nearly three years? The U.S. must not enable further atrocities by sending more weapons.

We urge you to support Senator Sanders’ Joint Resolutions of Disapproval today publicly. Vote to block arms sales to Israel.

We just need a few pieces of information to connect you with your Senators.
