ADC’s Pro-Bono and Mentorship Program

The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) Legal Department administers the ADC Pro-Bono and Mentorship Program. During the ADC Eighteenth National Convention members of the Arab-American legal community made several suggestions in order to improve the Legal Department’s effectiveness in combating discrimination and providing legal advice in all areas related to civil rights.
The Legal Department will implement two primary suggestions made during the Convention this past June. First, we invite and encourage all willing attorneys and third-year law students to volunteer their times on a pro bono basis in annual hourly increments dedicated to this cause. We suggest that each attorney dedicate no less than 20 hours per year to this program. Second, we will be conducting a mentorship program by pairing experienced attorneys with junior attorneys and third-year law students. Cases for the ADC Pro-Bono and Mentorship Program will be assigned from the daily incoming inquiries at the Legal Department.
Enclosed please find the ADC Pro-Bono and Mentorship Program Questionnaire which will assist us in establishing this program. We request that you kindly complete the questionnaire and return it to the Legal Department at your earliest convenience. Everyone’s prompt cooperation is highly appreciated and necessary in order for ADC to more effectively combat discrimination and aid those individuals in need of legal assistance.
