Washington, D.C. | adc.org | April 16, 2024 – Are you on the lookout for an internship opportunity? The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) is in search of summer interns eager to gain valuable experience with a civil rights nonprofit.

National Organizing: Work alongside the ADC National Organizer on tasks such as chapter development, event coordination, and conducting online educational sessions. As ADC expands into new cities and establishes more chapters, we seek motivated individuals eager to engage with Arab American communities across the nation.
Policy Department: Assist the ADC Government Affairs and Advocacy Director with legislative matters, including drafting statements and press releases. Additional responsibilities include researching legislation and federal regulations, developing advocacy campaigns, and preparing briefings on topics like homeland security and federal data collection for diverse audiences.
Legal Department: Legal associates will manage initial legal inquiries, conduct client interviews to gather case details, and oversee their caseloads under the supervision of ADC attorneys. Case topics may include employment discrimination, airline issues, educational disparities, hate crimes, immigration, and freedom of speech. Interns also contribute to research and drafting ADC amicus briefs for significant legal cases, including Supreme Court appeals. Applicants must be enrolled in law school.
Communications: Help in drafting and releasing statements. Compile and edit a bi-monthly newsletter featuring ADC updates, event info, Arab-American spotlights, and cultural insights. Additional tasks include handling media inquiries and managing the public relations calendar. This role is ideal for those interested in media relations and strategic communication.
Social Media: Work with the Communications Manager & Social Media Coordinator, creating engaging content, scheduling posts, and analyzing social media trends. Responsibilities also include participating in strategy sessions, managing social media campaigns, and refining our approach based on analytics.
