ADC Statement on Election of President-Elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris

We congratulate and welcome the incoming Biden – Harris Administration, and look forward to engaging with the administration on issues that matter to us. ADC is proud of the community organizers who have worked tirelessly this election season and doing their part to make sure our voice is heard. The last four years have been very difficult for the community and ADC as The Trump Administration was one of the most racist, xenophobic, and authoritarian administrations we have had in recent U.S. history.

The past four years have been challenging, but it is important to remember that these challenges will not immediately disappear once President-Elect Biden is Inaugurated. We commend the Biden campaign for bringing in Arab American voices and listening to our concerns. We anticipate and welcome the opportunity to work with the Biden Administration on our issues and concerns. However, this does not mean that we will not challenge the Biden Administration if they enact policies that adversely impact our community. ADC makes a commitment to the community that we will hold the Biden Administration accountable just as we did all prior administrations.

During this election season ADC, in partnership with When We All Vote, connected with nearly 400,000 Arab voters across the country. However, our work is not finished. With a special election this January in Georgia, ADC will be pushing voter registration and Get Out the Vote (GOTV) efforts in the State of Georgia.

We can celebrate and breathe for just a moment. But the work will continue, and we will need your help along the way. We hope you’re ready to join us!
