ADC Mourns the Death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Justice Ginsberg was a true champion of the people. As the second woman ever to serve as a Supreme Court justice, she dedicated her entire career, on and off the Court, to protecting rights for women and LGBTQ individuals, and advancing justice for millions of Americans.

Beyond her work, she was a mother, grandmother, and a friend. Our condolences go out to those who knew her.

With the election just over 40 days away, our community needs to stand up with millions of Americans to demand that a new Supreme Court Justice is not appointed until after the elections. The implications are clear: appointing someone during this time will not reflect the needs of the people.

Your vote matters now, more than ever. Register to vote here, and make sure your friends, families, and community are in this fight with you.

Our country and communities have been suffering throughout this pandemic, but also from state-sanctioned violence, lack of healthcare, and many more issues. Our current administration has failed us. We now need to fight back.

Make no mistake- our rights are at risk. We need the Supreme Court to recognize this and protect the rights of all those living in the United States.

We will remember Justice Ginsberg for her principled defense of our rights and justice for all. Her seat deserves to be replaced with someone equally principled. The decisions made today will last for the next 40 years- let’s make sure we make our voices heard and fight for what we believe in.
