ADC Condemns Hateful Depiction of Islam, but Rejects Violence as a Means of Protest

The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) has gone on record to condemn a series of cartoons depicting Prophet Mohammed in a negative, hateful, and racist fashion. However, ADC strongly condemns those protests that have led to violence throughout the world.
While the cartoon images are highly troubling, and symptomatic of a widely accepted Islamophobia within public discourse, ADC completely rejects any acts of violence and retaliatory threats as a means of protest. Instead, ADC calls on all parties to establish an open and constructive dialogue to address this matter.
