Oppose AB-1468!
Take Action
Contact your Assembly Member TODAY and tell them to vote NO on AB-1468. Our history as Arab Americans is at risk of being erased.
This week, AB-1468 was introduced in the California State Assembly by Assemblymember Rick Zbur (D-Los Angeles). AB-1468 is a bill that will directly impact the lived experiences and history of the Arab-American community by redefining “ethnic studies” to exclude Arab-Americans.
“A lack of clear curriculum standards for ethnic studies has allowed groups with biased ideological agendas to peddle factually-inaccurate and blatantly antisemitic curriculum to school districts, posing a threat to Jewish children’s safety,” Assemblyman Rick Zbur (D-Los Angeles).
Censorship on Palestine and broader Arab American history has already been rampant. In order for K-12 students to grow into well-rounded global citizens, knowledge on Arabs is crucial given the ongoing genocide of Palestinians they are current witnesses to. Now, more than ever, we must show up and demand that our stories are included in Ethnic Studies curriculums across the country.

ADC opposes AB-1468 and calls upon the California State Assembly to strike down this piece of legislation that thwarts the history of an entire group of people.
